Distilled Brass was founded in the fall of 2023 with the purpose of making music with friends and having fun doing it! Distilled Brass is made up of five of New Jersey’s best musicians with performance experience ranging from local orchestras to Broadway.

Thein Amato (Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Piccolo Trumpet) is a professional trumpet player in the New York/New Jersey areas. Thein also works as a Network and Systems Administrator for the Bergen County Technical Schools. Thein holds a degree in trumpet performance from Montclair State University.
Clay Beyert (Trumpet, Flugelhorn) is currently a band director at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. At Ridge, he directs both the concert and marching bands and performs with the pit orchestra for their spring musicals. Clay is an active performer at local churches and theater companies and also teaches private lessons in the Basking Ridge area. Clay holds a degree in music education from Montclair State University.
Collette Mather (French Horn) is the director of bands at Brooskide School in Allendale New Jersey. Colette currently plays in the New Jersey Wind Symphony, as well as other free-lance opportunities. Collette holds degrees…
